Roundtable Discussion: Open Platform Concepts and Vehicle Infrastructure Integration

On August 5, 2008, the US Department of Transportation’s Volpe National Transportation Systems Center hosted a roundtable discussion of Open Platform concepts and their implications for Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII). Proceedings are anticipated in mid-August and will be posted here when available.


International Benefits, Evaluation, and Costs (IBEC) Workshop on VII/VIC

This thought-provoking workshop will consist of four parts. The first session will be an introduction to VII/VIC activities being conducted around the world, focusing on Europe, Japan and the U.S. The second session will be a facilitated discussion on VII/CS deployment challenges and how these challenges can be overcome. In the third session, experts from the ITS evaluation community will present the latest findings from evaluations being conducted around the world on exactly what are the benefits and costs of VII/CS. The fourth session will consist of a facilitated discussion on how to share information internationally on VII/CS activities and evaluation results.
